LoDo is the name given to the Lower Downtown area of Denver and is a thriving, neighborhood of 25 square blocks. The area has over 20 art galleries and over 100 restaurants, clubs and other professional businesses. The area has the largest concentration of Victorian and early 20th-century buildings in the United States and is one of Denver’s top nightlife and eating neighborhoods.
With so much to do in LoDo, we at DestinationMundo.com have created a list of things to do and see when you are in Denver:
Union Station
Whilst Union Station is the main train station of the city, it actually feels like a small city. Built in 1881 inside it has an upscale hotel, great places to eat and several shops including The Tattered Cover Book Shop. There are even cart vendors selling flowers making it a really enchanting place to go.

Denver Colorado Capitol
The Denver Capitol and surrounding area is fantastic area to walk around in which there are free tours Monday-Friday. The Capitol dome is covered with 200 ounces of 24-carat gold leaf. An interesting fact is the Capitol sits one mile above sea level. There is an engraving on the 15th step but the 13th step is actually the one-mile high step. A true photo opportunity for tourists.
